Sweet & Tangy Marinade and Mop sauce is our newest sauce. It is sweetened with brown sugar and cane juice. It has no heat or spice. It has a lot of apple cider vinegar.
We use it for our BBQ competitions to baste (or mop) on the brisket, pork shoulder and ribs while they are slowly smoking. It’s also perfect on the pork shoulder after it’s pulled and shredded. The tang of the vinegar with the sweetness is perfect on the pork that gets no direct heat from the smoker.
You can use this sauce at home as a marinade for flank steak, chicken, salmon. It’s terrific for creating your own pulled pork in the oven without the smoker.
This sauce is also great as a replacement for Teriyaki sauce. It’s much lower in salt and great for stir fry. Go ahead and add sesame oil and ginger for full Asian BBQ flavor.
